Step-by-step guide

  1. In the menu bar of the inspectIT program, select the 'Storage Manager' tab.

  2. In the menu bar of the 'Storage Manager' tab, select the '+' to create a new storage.

  3. Select the repository, where the storage should be created and give the storage a name. Then click on 'Finish'.

  4. The storage is initial in the writable mode. That means that data can be written into the storage. When inspectIT receives measurements from the inspectIT agent, the measurements will be automatically written into the storage. To export the storage with the written data, click with the right mouse button on the storage and select 'Finalize Storage'.

  5. In the confirm dialog, click 'OK'. This will end the writable mode of the storage.

  6. The storage now can be exported. Click with the right mouse button on the storage and select 'Export Storage'.

  7. A path has to be selected, where the storage should be saved. To do so, click on 'Select'.

  8. Choose the path, where the storage should be saved. Then click on 'Speichern' (engl. 'Save').

  9. After the path is selected, click on 'Finish'. Traces are exported as a .itds file (Java serialization).
